Day 27 - A picture of yourself and a family member

As you’ve probably noticed, this is a photo of my whole family, not just a family member. The reason for this is quite simple; if I feature just one family member, I will NEVER hear the end of it.

I’m lucky to have a big family and we are extremely close, although we live thousands of kilometers apart. We love to laugh and have fun, and do some really silly things to make this happen. Of course, I can’t really tell you, because most of it is just too embarrassing to share with the world.

My oldest brother, Werner, has been working on cruise ships for… too long. He has been everywhere! My younger brother, Morne, also works on a cruise ship, as a photographer. He is engaged to Yelena, she’s from Ukraine. Only recently have my brothers been able to work on the same ships, and judging by their photos on Facebook, they’ve been having a little too much fun.

My younger sister, Lynette, has been a flight attendant for Emirates for almost three years. She was promoted to business class recently, and I’m so proud of her. She’s living the life in Dubai, U.A.E. We love to visit her there, and we also love the discount that we get when flying with Emirates.

My dad, Leon, and my mom, Suzette, live in South Africa with our two dogs. They are semi-retired, love gardening and enjoy traveling. They also have the very tiring job of keeping up with all of their children. Luckily they have email, Skype and Facebook as tools in their quest to know where we are in the world, what we’re doing, with whom, and for how long.
