Day 64 - A picture of something green

Is it a lawn? Is it a golf course? Nope, that would be our living room rug. So I know what you're thinking; That's a very VERY green rug for a living room. Well, yes, I'm aware of that, thank you. Let me explain how the green rug came to be.

When The Boyfriend and I moved into our apartment 2 years ago, it was already furnished. As you can see, we have yellow-ish hardwood floors, off white walls, and then we were also blessed with a gold couch and matching curtains (don't get me started!). 

So when we made a much needed trip to Ikea, we were especially looking for some colorful items to add to our very dull apartment. We picked out some pink and gray pillows for the couch, some colorful throws and then, as the crowd parted... Green Rug stared back at us from across the display room.

We were a little on the fence about this one, but it was between the green rug and an off white one, which just didn't make any sense. So we took a chance on the green rug, and we never looked back. Well... maybe we did stare at it for about 2 weeks after we placed it on the floor in the living room, not being able to make up our minds if we love it or hate it.

But after 2 years, Green Rug is still being displayed oh-so-proudly, doing it's job of keeping the bottoms of our feet nice and cozy. I guess it just needed to grow on us... See what I did there.
