Maroon & Burgundy for Fall/Winter 2012

Call it what you want; burgundy, maroon, crimson, oxblood... oxblood?! Yuck! This is my favorite color for fall/winter 2012. While traveling this summer, I saw it everywhere, as the fall collections started to make their appearance in stores, and fell in love with it. Being a popular fall color, I don't know why I haven't really noticed it more in previous years.

While shopping, I really couldn't get enough of it. It's ridiculous how many burgundy colored items I bought... and yet, still, I'm on the hunt for that perfect burgundy blazer as well.

It's great to wear with the fall and winter classics like navy blue, beige, black, gray, brown and white. If you like this color as much as I do, and you'd like to add some items to your closet this season, you don't have to look very far. From jeans to sweaters to lipstick to bags to nail polish, it's almost impossible not to find your perfect maroon colored item on any online store, or even in your local neighborhood.

Here are some of my favorites for fall/winter 2012:

Bags

I'm in love with this Céline Bi-Cabas tote in light burgundy. Also, you can find this cute imitation leather bag (top right) at H&M. If you're looking for something smaller, this across-body leather bag from ASOS would be a great choice. (Bottom right)

Blazers

I'm so obsessed with blazers for fall and winter. And with a closet full of blazers at the moment, I can't believe I don't have a burgundy one yet. Check out this boyfriend blazer at Urban Outfitters, pretty nice right?

Jeans

I found my perfect pair of burgundy skinny jeans at Bershka in Barcelona. But I also saw it in many other stores. I'm sure Forever21 and Zara will have it, too.

Sweaters

Oooh, sweaters, how I love thee. Whether they're loose or fitted, I can never have enough. H&M has some nice cable knits this season. 

Scarves

The Boyfriend can vouch for my out-of-control scarf collection. I don't know why, but I just can't seem to stop buying them. I got a maroon one at H&M in Dubai last month and can't wait to wear it!

Lipstick

I'm not sure yet if I'm brave enough to try this, but I really love burgundy lips for fall and winter. YSL's Rouge Volupte in Forbidden or L'Oreal's Colour Riche in Pure Burgundy would be my first choices.

Nail polish

I already posted about my Favorite Fall/Winter 2012 nail polish collections, and out of those I really like Essie's Skirting the Issue and Chanel's Suspicious.
