This morning, my wedding website informed me that I'll be getting married in 166 days. (*I only just recovered from my mini panic attack and can finally type this post*) That's 5 and a half months, people!
Although I'm a self-professed queen of planning, organizing and list-making, planning my own wedding is just on another level. First of all, we'll be getting married in South Africa, and I'm in Taiwan; this makes things a little more tricky. I can't just pick up the phone to call a vendor, the international calls are just too expensive. Luckily, my wedding planner a.k.a my mom, has been a star and living up to her nickname, Supermom. I'm so thankful for her and really blessed that I can always count on her for help.
Actually, although I feel a little frazzled and all over the place, our wedding plans are coming together quite nicely. We already had our engagement photo shoot in Paris, which I'll share here on Pretty.Random.Things. soon and we had a really fun engagement party with friends here in Taipei.
We've booked our dream venue, an awesome DJ, the best caterer I know and an amazing photographer. We're also very excited that one of our best friends' dad will be our officiant, which makes it extra special. Last week we sent out our "Save the Date" and our friends and family can finally start making their plans. One of my dear friends' two little daughters will be my flower girls. We have loved ones from all over the world coming to our wedding in South Africa, which is quite exciting.
Next on my "Wedding To Do List" are asking my bridesmaids and maid of honor to be my sidekicks on my special day, getting guests' addresses and ordering the invitations. We will also finalize the cake and, oh yeah, then there's the small matter of The Perfect Wedding Dress... *again, small panic attack*.
I'm yet to find The Dress, and have been browsing online for weeks. I have an idea of what I want, but there hasn't been one that made my heart skip a beat. I'll try to remain calm for now and hope for the best, but I might have to make a little trip to Hong Kong...
I'll keep you guys updated on how things are going, and I would love to hear your wedding planning stories, so please share it.
Have a nice week, everyone!
Dont panic Lysie, everything will turn out just fine. ❤❤❤
